The Five Best or Five Worst

Television has a big impact on today's world and everyone watches it but don't know what good shows to watch. I will be making a Top 5 list on the best shows under the "fast paced" TV shows.

#5 Prison Break - An innocent man is sent to death row and his only hope is his brother, who makes it his mission to deliberately get himself sent to the same prison in order to break the both of them out, from the inside out.

#4 Hell On Wheels - Cullen Bohannon, a former soldier and slaveholder, follows the track of a band of Union soldiers, the killers of his wife. This brings him to the middle of one of the biggest projects in US history, the building of the transcontinental railroad. After the war years in the 1860s, this undertaking connected the prospering east with the still wild west.

#3 Breaking Bad - A high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer turns to manufacturing and selling methamphetamine, with his former student, in order to secure his family's financial future.

#2 Walking Dead - Sheriff Deputy Rick Grimes leads a group of survivors in a world overrun by the walking dead. Fighting the dead, fearing the living.

#1 Sons Of Anarchy - A man in his early 30s struggles to find a balance in his life between being a new dad and his involvement in a motorcycle club.

Dear people of the future:
My name is Carson. I am 15 years old and go to Blackville High School. I am the youngest of my family of four with me,  my mother, my sister and my father. If you are reading this, it is in the year 2116. I will be talking about some things about myself, my community and the world that will probably be completely different by the time you’re reading this.

Usually if it is a nice day out I like to go four wheeling with my friends or I will shoot pucks in my backyard and if it is a bad day out, I will stay inside and go on my phone watch tv.
I live in a small community called Renous and not a whole lot goes on here. I am not sure about any big news that is going on in the world right now.

Writing the Children Story

Get My Bike

Jake, his brother and his father have been planning this biking trip for over a week now. Just the day before they were going, they decide to bring their friend.Jake, his brother and his friend always go biking together but this biking trip would be different because they are loading their bikes on to a trailer and going for a big drive.
Once they get to the perfect spot to unload their bike, it only takes seconds for Jake to start his bike up and go. Once they all get their bikes ready, Jake, his brother and his friend start driving all around. They are having a blast, climbing hills, exploring new trails and having the time of their lives.

They were all having so much fun but unfortunately there fun had to come to an end. Jake’s brother already had his bike loaded on the trailer but Jake and his friend decide to go for one more little drive around the pit. Finding a small water hole, bob was deciding if he should try it or not.

After thinking long and hard about it, he held down the gas and went for it. Only making it a couple feet in the water, he got stuck. The water was only around one foot deep but Jake thought is was way deeper and thought he was going to drowned his bike.

At the top of his lungs almost in tears he yells repeatedly “ GET MY BIKE.” Jake's friend dying in laughter because of the depth of the water, goes and helps him get his bike out of the muddy water.

After they get the bike out, they both had a great laugh about it for a while. The lesson in this would be that if something bad goes wrong, don't panic because the problem might not even be as bad as it seems.

Tips on Writing Stories for Children

http://m.wikihow.com/Write-a-Children's-Story

  1. Some information I found particularly helpful is, if you are having trouble thinking of an idea, ask a child. They are the ones reading it so see what they like. Another idea is make sure you state what age the book is recommended for.
  2. The information I found similar is that it looks like the author took lots of these points into consideration.
  3. The information I found helpful in "Writing Good Dialogue" is it gives you lots of tips on how to make your story better and how to correctly put dialog into your story.
  4.  What I think should be a part of the grading rubric for this assignment is the dialog. I think that because in a lot of children books that is a big part in the story.

Analyzing Children Stories

Invisible Alligators Review

  1.  The main character in Invisible Alligators is Sari. Sari is not human, she is a young monkey.
  2.  Yes there is some dialogue when Sari is talking out loud or to a alligator. Yes it helps describe the problems, feelings, situations because she says how she feels out loud.
  3. The conflict is that Sari feels invisible and alone in this book. Yes i think children can relate to this when they are alone and then they find other people that feel like them and become friends with them.
  4. The conflict is resolved by other people make friends with someone that is alone. The message or lesson is that if there is someone being ignored or bullied, talk to them and dont leave them out.
  5. All three stories are similar because they are all applying a good message in a way easy for a young person to comprehend.
  6. Things in these stories that would be appealing to younger children would be the characters in the books and also the humor in these books.

How to Create a YouTube Channel

YouTube is a very popular site or app and is known by almost everyone. YouTube allows to to make videos and share them with anyone around the world and you can also watch there's. YouTube has changed many people's lives like the ones that make YouTube videos for a living and make a very large amount of money of it. Generally you will get $1.5 to $2 per 1000 views. Below i am going to be explaining a step by step on how to create a YouTube channel and how to use it.

1. The first step is pretty simple, you must put your first name, then last.

2. Next, you create your own gmail. It can be anything you want and must have “@gmail.com” at the end. There is a chance that the username you choose is taken, if so, try something similar or just ass numbers on the end.

3. Now you have to create your password. Your password is for only you to know so make it something good and not easy to guess. You also have to confirm your password and that just means retype your password in the open slot.

4. Next you have to put the month, day, and year you were born.

5. Another simple step, your gender. Male or female and there is also an option to put “other”.

6. This step is to put your phone number. It would be better to put your mobile phone because later on you need to confirm your account be receiving a text message.

7. Now you must put an already existing email account for safety reasons. It can be another one of your accounts or it can be a parents email.

8. This is another simple step. All you have to do is type the numbers you see. For example, the picture says “405” so you would type “405”.

9. Scroll through until you find your location.

10. Finally, press accept and then your done

How To Article Review

The how to article that I am reviewing is called "How to Buy a Donkey". I chose this because buying donkeys is not something that people often do and its probably not easy to do.  You cant just go and search to buy a donkey, you have to have a trusted site.

This article would be very helpful to someone looking to buy a donkey. I feel this is a good and trusted site because the author went in great depth and included lots of details on it.

  • There are no more than three grammatical or spelling errors in the article. 5/5
  • The article has a catchy headline that makes you want to read it. 3/5
  • The article has a purpose, explaining benefits to the reader. 4/5
  • The steps in the article are clear and easy to understand. 5/5
Overall 17/20

Finding Forrester

Finding Forrester

The name of this movie is “Finding Forrester.” The main characters in the movie are William Forrester played by Sean connery, and Jamal Wallace played by Rob Brown. The director of the film is Gus Van Sant, and the movie was released on December 19th, 2000. The company that the movie was made with was Columbia Pictures. In the movie you watch a unique relationship between William and Jamal develop. Jamal a gifted- scholar athlete who thinks he's meant to play basketball meets the famous writer William Forrester and realizes what he really is meant to do.

In this film 16 year old high school boy Jamal is a very smart writer trying to go to school. He gets an offer to go to a private school but can’t afford to go because his father left him at a young age. He breaks into an old man’s house through a dare and when he breaks in he finds out that the house belongs to the famous author of the book “Forrester”.

Finding Forrester was a very high quality movie. The acting, setting, music and conflicts were all good. I found that all the actors played their characters well and their characters were believable. I thought that the setting matched these characters very well. The soundtrack to this movie was also good and fit in with the movie well.

This film compares to the film “To Kill a Mockingbird”. The relationship between Jamal and William Forrester compares to the relationship between Scout and Boo Radley. Two people come together and create a good relationship. These two movies compare because two very different people change each other. Scout and Boo changed their lives. Mr. Forrester helped Jamal perfect his writing and encouraged him to make something out of his life.

Deadpool

The film review that I watched was called " Review: ‘Deadpool,’ a Sardonic Supervillain on a Kill Mission" by Manohla Dargis on February 11, 2016. I like this review because it tells a lot about the movie with ought giving away spoilers.

The reason I chose this film review is that it has a nice balance talking about the film and its actors. It does not just focus on just the film, it talks about the actors, other films, the creator and more. As well it also talks a lot about the film but does not spoil the film for people who read the review before going to view the movie.

Overall the review was very nicely done, it did not jump back and forth between topics and was fairly easy to read and as well understand. I really liked how the New York Times did their review and that is why I have chosen it for my assignment.

The Leopard

The Leopard

It was August 27, 2016, when it was the grand opening at the new local zoo in Washington D.C and all the kids were running around having a great time until one leopard snapped ruining the fun for everyone.

All the animals were showing of to the crowd except one leopard who did not like the attention and especially all the little kids poking at him and throwing stuff at him. The leopard, ignoring all the stuff thrown at him, finally fell asleep. Not long after he fell asleep he was woken up by teenagers throwing rocks at him. The leopard taking no hesitation let out the biggest roar ever heard by anyone, it was heard through the whole zoo scaring everyone out of the park.

That wasn't good enough for the leopard tho, the leopard climbed up one of the rocks in his den and taking a huge leap and jumped the fence. The leopard was running all around hunting down those three kids that woke him up by throwing rocks. the leopard saw a group of teenagers running for the parking lot when he spotted the three teenagers.

Running the fastest the leopard ever did in his life, dashed for the teenagers. A couple feet away from the teenagers the leopard was when he made a huge jump for theteenagers taking all of them out with one jump. That didn't stop the kids from running and didn't stop the leopard from chasing them.

Finally after all three teenagers were laying on the ground bleeding and in pain, the leopard walked back to his den like nothing happened. The leopard decided to take a nap after his long day and hours later, he was awaken by a sharp needle being shot into his back making him very sleepy so he went to sleep again but this time, he didn't wake up.

Writing Inventory reflection

Writing Inventory reflection

No I do not write on my spare time. I usually drive my four-wheeler or dirt bike or play Xbox.

I do not have a favorite writer or a favorite kind of writing.

None of these come easy to me but i would rather do an essay because I know how to do them the most.

All of them.

I get my ideas of writing from personal experiences.

I am not currently working on anything.

Usually only one.

Nothing that i think of.

I have a lot of weaknesses as a writer.

I would probably talk about me playing hockey and my second choice would be about my dog Tazz.

To be able to write better than i can now.
